day nine
I have a video conference call later today, should be fun, but I'm not looking forward to the trip down to the other end of the site (about a 15min walk in the rain.) I'm having some serious trouble trying to get myself to work. Hehehe, just met an old friend from another department I was working at last work experience. I know too much, I'll probably be shot next time I leave the building. This is a rather odd thing to say, but I think beign here has made me fitter. Okay, I work less, but the time I'm here has meant when I get back from work, I only have a few minutes before dinner. So I'm snacking less. That and I'm having pizza everyday for lunch. And by everyday, I mean it literally.
Lunch was nice, a nice bacon and herb pizza and a good large oasis drink. The connection speed here has dropped dramatically, probably because everyone is using it. I'm only getting sub 10kb/s speeds, which isn't too good. Going even slower now. Oh well, maybe I should actually do some work instead of playing around on the internet. It is slightly more fun though...
I have a meeting in about half an hour, but it's going to take awhile to get there anyway. Oh, this was something I wanted to talk about. During lunch, the whole team talk about seriously interesting topics. For example, for some absurd reason today, we all started talking about the creators of jet fighters testing the windscreens by firing frozen chickens at them at mach 2. That's fast. Although I doubt any bird would get as high as a jet fighter, but a chicken? They're strange buggers.
Well, that meeting went alright. Was a bit strange, sitting in a room facing a tv with the other half of the room with the americans in. Echo was fairly bad, seeing as there was about a seconds worth of lag. They were friendly at least.
I have a meeting tomorrow, although it's in stevenage. My supervisor can take me there, but cannot take me back, so I was asked to look around for trains. £18.40 and 2 hours of my life. No thanks, so thanks in advance cat, who's offered to give me a lift back. Saves GSK some money too I guess.
Oh well, I will be going back home in a few minutes, and that takes an hour, so i'll see you then...
