The Japanese Obsession
One day, I found that ?All your base? flash cartoon. I downloaded the mp3 and laughed at it for awhile. Yet on the same page was a song that would change my outlook on music. The ?Yatta Parody? flash cartoon was my first look into the existence of Japanese popular music. I had always had an interest in Japanese culture and suchlike, after all, they make some groovy electronic entertainment and have some strange customs; for some reason, being strange attracts me. I researched further into this Japanese music scene, downloading more and more music, and finding a strange interest in it. Eventually here I am with about three-hundred-and-seventeen songs and forty-two videos, and a Japanese phrasebook that Rach gave to me for my birthday. Now for the more recent and potentially frightening part, I have found importers! Yes, companies willing to send me stuff from Japan. I have already ordered a keychain, a pack of caffeinated chewing gum, some rock shaped chocolate and some gummi. A relatively small order that will just test this company before I part with any quantity of money of substantial worth. I have also found another importer that will send Japanese pop CD?s to me. Finally I will get my hands on the real thing. If this order goes well, expect Japanese birthday presents only from when I receive my first batch of goods onwards.
